Following the successes of
the first STSS (International Symposium on Socially and Technically Symbiotic Systems) in 2012 in Okayama, Japan and the first ISSNP (International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power Systems) in 2007, Tsuruga, Japan, the joint international conference of STSS/ISSNP 2015 will be held during August 25-28, 2015 at the main campus of Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan. The STSS/ISSNP 2015 is organized to promote academic exchanges of the topics of mainly human computer interaction (HCI), human machine interface (HMI) technologies, and symbiosis of technology in nuclear industries. The scopes of the symposium are as follows;
STSS Technical Scopes
Category: STSS-1Social factors, human factors, socio-technical systems, risk communication.
Category: STSS-2Human machine interfaces including the new concepts such as affective interfaces, semiotics, virtual reality, augmented reality.
Category: STSS-3Sensing, signal processing, support systems for large-scale engineering system operation and maintenance, skill succession.
Category: STSS-4Risk engineering, symbiotic energy systems including new energy production systems, smart grid, concepts for energy saving, etc.
ISSNP Technical Scopes
Category: ISSNP-1Safety and risk studies from social, environmental and economic aspects of nuclear energy.
Category: ISSNP-2Sensors, instrumentation and control, operation, testing and maintenance, operator support, human-machine interface of nuclear power systems.
Category: ISSNP-3Integrated aspects of energy systems (i.e., multipurpose utilization of nuclear energy, nuclear fuel cycle, plant decommissioning, comparative study of nuclear energy, etc.).
Category: ISSNP-4Other general nuclear engineering (i.e., reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, reactor core and plant behavior, nuclear fuel behavior, etc.).
